Looks like Tarzan but acts like Jane
Rick Carpenter has been with Atlanta Dog Trainer for 10 years.
With over 130 dogs fostered over the past 15 years, my wife and I have made dogs our passion. Specifically working with 2 rescue groups for Pit Bulls and Labrador Retrievers we focused on the maligned and misunderstood Pit Bull as well as the over bred over populated Labrador.
It was through this passion that I decided to make a living helping these beautiful creatures beyond fostering. After 10 years of learning, training and, most importantly, observing dogs and their behaviors I have worked with approximately 700 dogs of almost every breed. The challenge isn't always the dog but the ongoing relationship with the owners and their pup. Communication with the owners is critical while educating how dogs think and to understand better their actions.
Although my primary focus has been with Board and Train I have also been the primary Instructor for Dock Diving at our on premise pool. Over the past three years we have sent 3 dogs into national competitions with all 3 winning in their classification. Additional areas of focus include therapy dogs for special needs individuals as well as returning home vets. Additionally, in home lessons, private lessons at our facility and group classes are part of my background as well. All areas require clear communications with owners to insure success in all forms of training.
At the end of the day I have to be able to believe I and Atlanta Dog Trainer made a difference.
